Biography

Ian M. Watt is an associate attorney with Hardin Thompson, P.C., practicing in the area of general insurance defense. Mr. Watt received his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Area Studies from Kenyon College in 2013.

He attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2017. During his time in law school, Mr. Watt held legal internships with the Honorable Edward J. Borkowski, a prestigious civil litigation firm, and the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office in the Domestic Violence Unit. He was a certified legal intern and conducted preliminary hearings under the supervision of licensed attorneys.

After law school, Mr. Watt gained extensive insurance defense and civil litigation experience defending premises liability and auto liability claims, including uninsured/Underinsured motorist claims. In addition, Mr. Watt has represented Employers and their Insurers against Worker’s Compensation Claims. Mr. Watt has considerable and successful trial experience.

Mr. Watt is admitted to practice in Ohio and Pennsylvania, the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit

Representative Cases

  • Plaintiff claimed damages in excess of $200,000.00. The case proceeded to trial and the jury returned a verdict of no liability in favor of our client.
